Dr. Shahid Amjad Chaudhry is the Rector of the Lahore School of Economics and also Professor of Economics. He has a B.A from Punjab University, an M.A. (Cantab.) and a Ph.D. from McGill University. He is the founder of the Lahore School of Economics which is one of Pakistan’s leading not for-profit institutions of higher education in Pakistan. The Lahore School has currently 200 faculty members and over 3000 students in the Undergraduate and Graduate Levels specialising in Economics, Business, Finance, Social Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Mathematics & Statistics and Media Studies Art and Design.
Dr. Chaudhry was also Deputy Chairman of the Pakistan Planning Commission from July 2000 to July 2003.
