Mpho is an Entrepreneurial Executive with more than 10 years’ experience in managing sales, marketing operational business activities for both start up and well established corporate companies. Mpho’s career objective has been mostly around business development as well as economic sustainability through skills development, job creation and social upliftment projects.
Ms. Mahanyele’s career started with a family business venture into the manufacture and fitment of fibre-glass canopies. This is a business she started, managed and grew into 2 branches. It was on the success of this business that the family was able to invest into the steel manufacturing business. This started with a product range of steel canopies and has now developed into manufacturing products such as buses; ambulances; police vehicles; mobile clinics and mobile banks.
Ms. Mahanyele is an Executive Director as well as a Shareholder in Cabworld which is a company that specialises in vehicle body manufacturing (Coversions). They employ a staff compliment of 180 which includes 167 artisans.
She is also a Shareholder and Executive Director in Chedza International (Pty) Ltd which is a company that focuses on empowerment facilitation. Her role is to identify opportunities that have a need for transformation and development thus ensuring job creation and skills development. Through Chedza she has been able to work on projects that include business re-engineering; electrification of rural villages; biodiesel energy and is currently working on solar water heating systems for the underprivileged communities.
Her formal qualifications include a BA (Law) obtained at the University of South Africa. She has worked in numerous industries specialising in the Telecommunication industry where she has previously occupied the position of Treasurer General for the Black IT Forum in Gauteng. Through this association she also represented the Forum in Business Unity South Africa (BUSA) as a member of their Social Policy Sitting Committee.
Ms. Mahanyele is also a member of the Women’s Forum of the Common Wealth Business Forum.
She has a high record of building and maintaining networks across different business and government levels and is successful in identifying opportunities for accelerated growth.
Her history of employment includes companies such as; Vodacom; Microsoft and Torque IT.
