Ricardo Marvao

Co-Founder, Beta-i

Ricardo Marvao is a Portuguese serial entrepreneur from Lisbon. He is currently the Co-Founder and member of the Board at BETA-I, a non- profit organisation started in 2010, seeking to contribute to the development of the new culture of entrepreneurship. At Beta-I, he for the conferences like Silicon Valley coming to Lisbon, plus monthly events like the Beta-Talks, on their 1 month acceleration program Beta-Start, and future strategy.

 

In 2001, Rircardo Marvao started his first job as software Engineer at Dell in London. He then went back to his home country in Portugal and worked for Portugal Telecom (PT INVOVACAO). In 2003, he founded his first company called LISBOA JOVEM. In the same year, he started to work for European Space Agency – ESOC in Darmstadt, Germany.

 

In 2004 Ricardo founded EVOLVE SPACE SOLUTION, company specialise in Aerospace activities like satellite simulations, operating systems, virtualizations and space mobile application. He was the CEO there until 2011.

 

From 2011 Ricardo is also manager of Aerospace & Transportation at NOVABASE, the biggest IT Company in Portugal.

 

Beside professional work, Ricardo also takes part in many organisations: Portuguese Space Association, Portuguese German Chamber of Commerce, Portuguese American Post Graduate Society, ISU alumni, ISE France Board Member, Toulouse Business School Alumni and Boston University Alumni.
